The U.S.-Ukraine Foundation (USUF) is a nonprofit, non-governmental organization established in 1991 to facilitate democratic development, encourage free market reform, and enhance human rights in Ukraine. With offices in Kyiv and Washington, the Foundation works to provide Ukrainian policy makers with accurate and timely information to support the public policy process. This is accomplished through conferences, newsletters, policy-research projects, and by serving as a dependable resource for information. Through these activities, the USUF has earned a reputation as an honest broker of information in the U.S. and Ukraine.

The Foundation directs a variety of projects aimed at promoting democratic development and free market reform in Ukraine. The largest program of the USUF is the Community Partnerships Project (CPP) which is funded by the U.S. Agency For International Development (USAID). The CPP was a three-year program (1998-2000) which has now been extended for two-more years (2000-2002). The program links 18 U.S. communities with 18 Ukrainian communities in mutually beneficial partnerships to establish education and training programs for local governments in Ukraine.
