International Christian University (ICU)-Kyiv
is a non-state institution of higher education that provides
a unique opportunity to get a Western business education in
Ukraine. ICU-Kyiv's philosophy is to provide state-of-the-art
education in market oriented management techniques and knowledge,
to encourage a balance between theory and practice, to mentor
students in developing their managerial identity and business
administration skills, to motivate student initiative and
creativity, and to develop an understanding of business and
its social responsibility.ICU's western-style education prepares
its graduates for the challenges and opportunities in the
Ukrainian and global marketplace.

ICU-Kyiv was founded in 1992 in affiliation
with Kyiv National Economic University and the International
University-Vienna, Austria. ICU-Kyiv is licensed in Austria
|

(through International University)
and in Ukraine by the Ukrainian Ministry of Education and Science.
The curriculum combines professional education and the liberal
arts. The University offers a Bachelor of Business Administration
degree with a choice of two majors: Management and Management
Information Systems. All classes at ICU-Kyiv are conducted in
English. The faculty includes American, Canadian, British and
Ukrainian instructors.
Western style/content business courses
(management, marketing, accounting, economic and computer
sciences) are offered at ICU. There are also liberal arts
courses in English, literature, social sciences, philosophy,
history and music/art appreciation. Students are required
to take two semesters of either French, German or Spanish.

| The student body totaled 540
in 1999-2000. The school is licenses to take 100 first year
students each year who are selected through competitive exams.
There were 90 graduates in June of 2000. Tuition for students
is $ 100 per course. Most students take 10-13 courses a year
and have to have 40 courses to graduate. Scholarships are available
for students who qualify which reduce the cost per course to
$ 60. ICU-Kyiv alumni hold excellent positions in multi-national
corporations, local companies, joint ventures, government organizations,
and NGO's. |

Dr. Anatoly Voichak is the Vice-President/Rector
and Dr. Paul Sloan is the academic dean. Dr. Sloan said, "Our
university is committed to challenging every individual to
grow, to learn, and to become a positive force in Ukraine
and for Ukraine," Dr. Sloan said ICU's vision is to be the
best university for management education in Ukraine, to develop
a strong liberal arts program, to model the highest level
of management behavior, to model 'rule of law' and transparency
in all operations and to recruit faculty of the highest level
and competency. ICU welcomes individuals and companies that
are interested in supporting the University and assisting
it in reaching its goals and objectives.
