The Ukrainian Muscular Dystrophy Association ERB is a non-governmental
and
non-profit organization registered by the Department of Justice of Ukraine.
The Association was founded by a small group of people who were affected by
the disease. From a tiny organization we have grown into the Ukrainian MDA
and
have many branches across the country.
The problems of muscular dystrophy in Ukraine have never been raised
before.
Ukrainian MDA first started work on establishing contacts with the affected
people and their families.
The Association is run only by the disabled people from their homes,
and a
small number of volunteers. The Association is committed to provide
information
and support to disabled people with muscular dystrophy and their families.
Among our programs the most important are informative and educational
programs for patients, members of their families, other concerned
individuals.
We publish the Association's ERB magazine (with explanations about the
nature of muscular disorders), informative booklets, recommendations for
parents with affected child. The book by A. Emery "Muscular Dystrophy,
The Facts" has been recently translated into Ukrainian and is now ready for
publication. The realization of our publishing programs has only become
possible
with the financial help of our supporters.
We would like to appeal to other international organizations, which are
interested in international cooperation to fight genetic disorders.
Until now we have been relying on own efforts, but hope that enthusiasm of
the MDA in combination with the experience of international organizations
will
enable us to help solve the common problem of Muscular Dystrophy.

They would be extremely grateful for any donations you can make to their
organization.
