On the left is the statue of Olha, Rus' princess and Orthodox saint, wife of Prince Ihor and mother of Sviatoslav Ihorevych. Olha was the first Rus' leader to become a Christian. The statue is in the large square in front of St. Michael's Cathedral. There used to be a cathedral where the Ministry building is today but it was destroyed by the Soviet Communists so they could build one of their official buildings on the site]
