which is renowned for its marvelous wood carvers and painters. Her artistic mentor
was her older sister Irena.

uses unique brushes made of forest grass with short handles. Today, only Sophia
Homeniuk has mastered this ancient manner of painting. The artist called one of her
paintings "Dancing Flowers" the name being appropriate for many of the artist's
works.

are inspired by folk songs. A Lubok painting, the primitivism of the theme is
raised to poetic ascension by the artist's original talent. Homeniuk's paintings
