YURI KUCHERENKO
Yuri Kucherenko was born in 1963 in Ukraine in the Kirovohrad region. Yuri
completed his studies at the Ukrainian Academy of Art in 1992. The favorite heroes
of the artist's works are the generalized images of the Cossack and
Cossack girl in love,
specific well-known historical figures, and contemporaries of the artist.
He is attracted to Ukraine's glorious past and is enchanted by the naive and
simultaneously wise world of folk art of distinctly non-ephemeral spiritual and
aesthetic values. The artist is especially enamored by the theme of the
Cossack
emancipation.
Mr. Kucherenko has participated in nationwide Ukrainian and international art
exhibits. His paintings are hanging in private collections in Ukraine, America, Canada, and
other countries.
