KYIV, UKRAINE.......The Ukrainian Independent Information Agency
(UNIAN), one of the largest Ukrainian producers and providers of political,
business and financial information in Ukraine, has created and launched a
new website entitled, "UNIAN-Culture."
The new website, "UNIAN-Culture" opened on Friday, January 31,
and was created with the support and assistance of the Renaissance Fund.
Information posted on the new website is presently in Ukrainian.
The link to the new "UNIAN-Culture" website is http://culture.unian.net/.
UNIAN stated the new website will provide timely news, in-depth
articles, and personal interviews about cultural events in Ukraine. Topics
that will be covered include the theater, movies, music, art, literature,
and society. There will be daily announcements in these areas posted on
the new website.
"UNIAN-Culture" will soon provide its readers, according to UNIAN,
with information as to why Ukrainian musicians are not worthy of the "Zolota
Zhar-Ptytsya" prize, what creative relationship exist between the singer and
actor Andriy Kravchuk and death, and in a frank interview information
about the new stage work of Ada Rohovtseva.
The Ukrainian Independent Information Agency (UNIAN) was founded
in March of 1993 and can be found at www.unian.net. Their new website,
"UNIAN-Culture" can be found at http://culture.unian.net/.
The International Renaissance Foundation (IRF) in Ukraine was founded
as a member of the Soros Foundations network in April 1990. The IRF, an
independent, charitable and civic organization, is dedicated to building and
maintaining the infrastructure and institutions necessary for an open
society in Ukraine.
The IRF operates and supports an array of programs and initiatives
that promote the process of national rebirth and democratic development
in four broad areas: education, civil society, culture and publishing.
