Christmas Pageant Celebration January 25, 2002
Washington, D.C.,............The Embassy of Ukraine in Washington, D.C. held a "Christmas Pageant Celebration" Friday night, January 25, 2002. Several hundred excited guests attended the wonderful Christmas pageant which featured tha caroling traditions of Ukraine followed by a reception with an array of Ukrainian traditional Christmas dishes.

The guests of the Ukraine Embassy were welcomed by Ambassador Gryshchenko and his wife Nataliya. The Promin Vocal Ensemble of New York and the New York Bandura Ensemble performed a large selection of traditional Ukrainian Christmas and New Year songs. The music was performed with joy and zest and the guests gave the ensembles a standing ovation. |

A Ukrainian youth choir composed of children of the Embassy staff also sang a delightful group of carols. Their music was thoroughly enjoyed by the audience.
After the concert the guest were treated to a large selection of Ukrainian Christmas dishes. During the reception many of the guests grouped together and started singing. Before long the members of the ensembles and the guests were having a wonderful time singing a wide selection of Ukrainian Songs. The "Christmas Pageant Celebration" at the Embassy of Ukraine was a huge success and was a special evening for those who attended.

Ms. Bohdanna Wolansky of New York is the conductor of the Promin Vocal Ensemble. The director of New York Bandura Ensemble is Mr. Julian Kytasty.
