      1991, 100x82, oil on canvas

Ivan Novobranets was born an artist. From early childhood he painted everything in his parents' hut.
At school he refused to write compositions. He only wanted to draw pictures for which he received low
marks. He was a poor sudent at school. His only passionate interest was painting and history.

Once, while still a schoolboy, he read in a history book that in ancient times somewhere in the area
where he lived there had been a Scythian capital named  Helon. He began his own archeological
diggings and later became so fond of this that he turned into a real amateur archeologist.
However, he was not searching for gold or silver, he was searching for pieces of history
.

music from his favourite teacher I. Padalka who studied at the Kyiv
conservatory. The student turned into a skillful village accordionist.
But his great passion was for painting.
