EDITOR'S NOTE: The fifteen or more models created for the competition above have been viewed in Kyiv, Ukraine by a large number of observers. Most of the observers believe the models are not world class at all, do not represent the major human tragedies that are being memorialized in a proper way, are not adequate at all and fall far below what one would expect from such a historical memorial complex.

The proposed location of the historical memorial complex is also not adequate at all. There is not any public transportation to the sight and it is in plain view of the large Iron Lady in Kyiv. The location for the complex needs to be changed. All in all the movement by the government of Ukraine to built a memorial historical complex has been very discouraging to those who have observed what is going on in Kyiv. Is is sad and depressing to watch.

It is very important that people contact the members of the Jury as soon as possible to let them know about these major and important concerns. September 22, 2003, Kyiv, Ukraine
