BUDAPEST........On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the 1932-33
Great Ukrainian Famine, the Hungarian National Assembly has adopted
a resolution which recognized the event as a genocide.
The resolution, which also expresses solidarity with the relatives of the
victims, is the first such resolution in Europe.
Jaroslava Harkanyi [phonetic], chairman of the National Ukrainian Minority
Self-government [of Hungary], conveyed his thanks to the Hungarian
parliament for the resolution. [passage omitted]
An exhibition about that horrible period will open in the House of Terror
