VOLODYMYR
V. LUPIYCHUK
was born on December 22, 1929, in the town of Volochysk,
Khmelnytsk oblast, Ukraine to the family of a grain-grower.
In 1945 he entered Lviv Art and Vocational School #4.
He graduated from the School in 1948. Volodymyr was sent
to work in Ternopil (Western Ukraine) by the Lviv school.
His life as an artist is connected to Ternopil.
Volodymyr worked as a house painter and modeler for a
long time. He also studied at the Chernivtsi Construction
Technical School. During his spare time Volodymyr spent
enjoying his hobby, modeling and wood-carving. Since 1960
he has been participating in the exhibitions of amateur
folk art and also in professional exhibitions, when folk
art was exhibited.

Mother Ukraine

In the 1970's Lupiychuk
started his own personal exhibitions. His art works have
been exhibited all over Ukraine. In 1990 he exhibited
in Canada. The exhibits showed Volodymyr's wood-carvings
which are held in private collections in Canada. Volodymyr
Lupiychuk has had 200 exhibitions.

Cossack
culture is the leading theme for his wood-carving art.
The Cossack topic is represented by the wood-carvings
which are carved according to Shevchenko's poetry and
the wood-carvings of Ukrainian National Hero Ustym Karmaliuk,
for which Volodymyr received a number of awards. Before
Lupiychuk retired he worked at the Lviv Art Factory of
the Artists Union of Ukraine. Volodymyr was given the
Volodymyr
Vinnychenko Award for the active promotion of Ukrainian
folk art. |
In addition
to his art activities, Lupiychuk is engaged in public
work. He works and supports the Renaissance Of The Ukrainian
Cossack Movement. He was the one who initiated the Renaissance
Of The Cossack Movement in the Ternopil oblast and became
the first Ottoman (Cossack leader) there. Volodymyr is
the member of the Board of Founders of the Ukrainian Cossack
Movement, a member of the Board of the Founders of Cossack
Movement Renaissance and General-Carnet of the Ukrainian
Cossack Movement.
