UKRAINE'S EUROCAR TO ASSEMBLE VOLKSWAGEN
CARS STARTING IN JULY OF 2003

MOSCOW -- German car maker Volkswagen AG (G.VOW) plans to assemble Volkswagen cars at Ukraine's ZAO Eurocar plant starting in July 2003, Eurocar said Tuesday, according to Anna Ivanova-Galitsina of Dow Jones Newswires on April 15, 2003.

Eurocar will start assembling Passat models and later will produce Boras, Golfs and Polos.

Eurocar already assembles Skoda cars by Skoda Automobilova (R.SKA), also part of Volkswagen Holding and is in talks with Audi AG (G.AUD), also part of Volkswagen, to produce its models in Ukraine.

Eurocar spokeswoman said it was too early to say whether the Volkswagen models produced in Ukraine could be exported to neighboring countries.

The company websites are: Volkswagen:  http://www.volkswagen.com, and Eurocar:  http://www.eurocar.com.
