Washington, D.C...........A one-day "Business and Investment
Opportunities in Poland, Russia and Ukraine International Conference will
be held in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Thursday, February 20, 2003, at the
Munk Centre for International Studies, Vivian and David Campbell
Conference Facility at the University of Toronto.
The conference will feature a series of speakers and panel discussions
on such topics as: Governance and the Investment Climate; Assessing
Governance and Political Risk; Investing in Industries; Securing Financial
Resources: Banking and Finance; and Navigating the Legal, Taxation, and
Corporate Governance Environment.
Individual sessions will be held about each country under the titles:
Poland's Market Economy and Future Opportunities; Investing in Russia;
and Ukraine's Business Environment: Current State and Prospects.
Included among the speakers and panelists are representatives of the
European Bank for Reconstruction and Development; the former finance
minister and deputy prime minister of Poland; Northland Power, the former
minister of economics of Russia and representatives of Baker & McKenzie
from Poland, Ukraine and Russia.

of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland; Export Development Canada (EDC);
