The W. J. Group was started in 1989 by four private entrepreneurs, most of whom came originally from far western Ukraine, along the Hungarian border. In just 12 years, W. J. Group has catapulted from its status as an unknown start-up to one of the most reputable, visible and trustworthy names in the agricultural commodities business. The W. J. Group is now one of the largest exporters and processors of grain and oilseed products from the countries of the CIS and Eastern Europe.

The W. J. Group has expanded to control the entire logistics chain from land to the end-user. They now provide agricultural inputs (sowing seeds, fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides, fuel and cash pre-financing) to carefully selected, reputable farmers. This ensure that producers deliver high quality products in acceptable quantities in a timely manner.

the Kherson elevator has been expanded from 40,000 to 100,000 tons.

The Kherson elevator has an on-site flour mill with a daily capacity of 410 tons of wheat. The flour mill is equipped with high-yield equipment manufactured by the Swiss company Buhler.
The mill produces two grades of quality flour, which can be packaged in jute, paper, or polypropylene bags to conform to world standards. A large amount of the flour is delivered in bulk The flour from the Kherson
mills is famous in Ukraine and beyond its borders.
In 1998, W. J. Group purchased one of the oldest crushing plants in Russia-the Valujki oil plant (founded in 1889). With an investment program and reconstruction, the plant's capacity increased to 120,000 tons of sunflower seeds per year. Newly installed bottling lines fill one liter bottles and have the capacity of producing up to 10 million bottles per month. Under the label "RAXDOLIE", the plant produces
quality sunflower oil which conforms to the highest standards in the world. W. J. Group is expanding in this area and purchasing other crushing plants in the CIS.
W. J. Group has developed specialty agricultural products. In the Cherkassy area of Ukraine pumpkins are grown for their seeds. The seeds are used for cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and for human consumption. W. J. exports more than 3,000 tons of pumpkin seeds from Ukraine each year and expects this volume to increase
substantially.

Several new farm production units have been created in the Donetsk and Kherson regions of Ukraine, in the Belgorod region of Russia and in Moldova by W. J. to produce large volumes of high-quality agricultural products in an efficient manner.
Operating as a major trading house the W. J. Group has worked with a number of large Western companies regarding the agricultural input financing cycle, working to move imputs in and grain out. W. J. has had working arrangements with Monsanto,
Novartis, BASF, Rustica, DuPont, Dow Chemcial, FMC, John Deere, CASE, and New Holland.
W. J. Group comprises more than 2,000 employees working in over 65 locations.

They have a trading office in Paris, an operations office in Budapest, U.S. offices in New York and Chicago, and additional offices in Bucharest, Kishinev, Kyiv, Riga, and Moscow.
