Vira Manko lives in Lviv. She has been devoting herself to making pysanky since 1986, popularizing making authentic folk pysanky. Her book on the subject of folk pysanka was first published in 2001. This is the second supplemented edition that contains more pysanka ornaments. The author pays much attention to the functional aspect of pysanky, and especially to the symbolic meaning of its ornament, which is an undestructible sign code of the nation and ancestors which is of an extraordinary value for scholarship and culture. This is why it needs to be preserved.
