The Action Ukraine Coalition was formed in 1999 by the Ukrainian
American Coordinating Council, the Ukrainian Federation of America
and the US.-Ukraine Foundation during the debate in Washington, D.C.
over the certification of U.S. foreign aid for Ukraine.
The Coalition's stated goals are to strengthen U.S.- Ukraine ties, to
develop a sustained and pro-active relationship between the Ukrainian-
American community and the U.S. Congress, and to raise the level of
awareness and visibility around the world of key Ukrainian issues
related to building a strong, independent, democratic, prosperous
Ukraine governed by the rule of law, with a market driven private
economy, and proud of its culture, language and people.
