From October 1st, 2001 till October 1st, 2002 number of farmsteads in Ukraine went up by 5.1% - to 42,873, as Interfax-Ukrayina informs. According to data of State Statistics Committee during the whole last year number of farmsteads went up by 8.3% - to 41,600. Now farmers cultivate 2.797 million ha of agricultural lands, out of which 2.610 million ha are plough-lands. In Ukraine farmers produce 5-6% of agricultural commodities.  http://www.agriukraine.com
